Darren from EXP Resources recently shared some awesome feedback from his experience as a grader operator working with Trimble Earthworks after upgrading from GCS900.
Darren uses Trimble Earthworks for both GPS and UTS operations depending on what is required for the task at hand. He has found the GPS to be surprisingly accurate, and the UTS perfect for handling understructures with precise, peace of mind trimming. He was also pleased to find he can sit the grader in any position with the blade out and still get a true reading, a great improvement from the GCS900 system.
“Earthworks is mint. The android touch screen is an awesome display choice and the multi-screen is very useful compared to the GCS900.”
One feature that has really stood out for Darren is the map mode: “When trimming a road, just before I get survey check, I press that button and it shows where the grader has been. If the whole road is green, I know I’m good. If a few red bits show up I quickly cut them out, and if there’s blue I know there’s fill.” Darren shared that this has made a significant improvement in machine efficiency and grade times.
“Trimble’s set up for graders is mint, I wouldn’t use anything else.”
Darren added that his experience working with SITECH WA has been excellent, particularly with the level of service and support he receives. He greatly appreciates the thorough run through of the system he received from our Group Service Manager, Sam, which gave him the knowledge needed to get going right away and start achieving great results. “Working with SITECH WA has been great.
