SCS900 Software Basics

Course Description:

This introductory course teaches the basic information and skills needed for using SCS900 for Site Projects. This course is ideal for Grade Checkers and Site Engineers that are new users of SCS900 Site Controller Software.

Objectives:

  • How GPS / GNSS works
  • RTK Fundamentals
  • Understanding communications link between Base and Rover
  • Learn files and folders structure
  • How to create a site, work order and design
  • Understanding how to import a Coordinate system file
  • Demonstrate how to conduct a one point and full site calibration and edit unacceptable results
  • Demonstrate how to start and configure a base station and rover
  • Measure a surface with and without a design in different measurement modes
  • Stakeout a line, surface and thickness check reports
  • Run a surface grade and thickness check reports
  • Demonstrate how to measure a stockpile with and without a design

Pre-requisites:

  • Ability to navigate and name files using Windows 7
  • Experience in Grade checking will be helpful

Course Details:

  • Course Length – 16 hours over 2 consecutive days
  • Course Format – 20% theory, 80% practical
  • Class Size – Max 10 Students, Min 3 students
  • Class Hours – 8am to 5pm
  • Venue – SITECH WA training centre – please report for reception at 1/8 Hasler Road Osborne Park
